I had forgiven them, and I even told the person directly that I forgave them. But deep down, I was still bleeding. The pain was still alive. I noticed that whenever I saw the person or came across anything related to the situation, I still felt the pain. One day, I broke down and lashed out — exchanging words and throwing blame. At that moment, all I really wanted was for the person to say three simple words: “I am sorry.” But those words never came. My heart was burning — filled with pain, anger, and bitterness.
